When West Virginia loses to Maryland, Wisconsin wins its first Big Ten title

The University of Wisconsin football team will take on the Maryland Terrapins in the second round of the Big Ten Championship on Thursday, a game the Badgers will win in the process.

A win by the Badger’s over the Terrapin squad would give Wisconsin its first conference title since 1999.

In its first-ever meeting, the Badgies beat the Terps by a score of 21-0 on October 11.

Wisconsin and Maryland had met just once in the regular season before the first-round game on October 9, when the Badgs won 13-10.

The Badgers won the first two games of the series by a combined score of 17-0, but the Terp side fell to Wisconsin by scores of 22-14 and 25-17 in the last two games.

The Terps are a 1-1-0 team in the conference, with one win coming against Ohio State in the season opener on October 13.
