Why Michigan is still committed to winning the College Football Playoff

Michigan has not yet decided whether to host a game in the College Sports Playoffs, but it is expected to host one in the coming months.

The Wolverines are expected to announce their selection for the 2018 College Football Playoffs at a conference call on Wednesday.

Michigan currently plays in the Big Ten Conference, the second-tier of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

The Wolverades have never played in the playoff.

In 2018, the Wolverines were eliminated in the second round of the NCAA tournament after a 45-31 loss to Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

Michigan has also never hosted a game, playing games in the Atlantic Sun Conference (formerly the Big East), the MAC, and Conference USA.

Michigan has yet to play in the BCS.
